Reading a chart or pattern
I cross stitch, but trying plastic canvas, please tell me, do I start at the edge and read across, or start in middle like cross stitch, or do all of one color? Thanks, want to start on tissue boxes

I start at the top right corner. It depends what the pattern is and what the main color is, but I try to do all of the main color first. Just don't cross over more than about 3 or 4 stitches at a time. Try to do all of one color in one area so you aren't crossing over. Weave under and cut off and go to the next area, otherwise the yarn will show through under the next colors. I think the stitches are backwards from cross stitch though. With the plastic canvas, you will start on the right and go left across the canvas. Instead of starting in the top and crossing down left, you will start below the bar and to the left and cross over to the top right. I hope that isn't to confusing. If you have a kit, it should have a picture. Then reverse it when coming back from left to right. This is actually a very easy craft. I think it is a lot easier than cross stitch.

I found it is easier to start bottom right and go left across the canvas using 1 color but do not go across more than 4 spaces. Then go back under several stitches, then cut yarn. This makes a neater back. Enjoy!
