teaching plastic canvas to children
i have a class of six, seven and eight year old children.there are eight children at my table and our time together is about ten minutes every Sunday. It is my job to teach needlework. the children have been enjoying working on plastic canvas heart and cross shapes with running stitch.
Does Plastic Canvas for Kids give guidelines about how to plan a plastic canvas classes for kids. I mean at what age should I bring in new stitches and should I teach diagram reading? I want to keep it fun and exciting and let them enjoy the beginning stage but when should I begin to teach new skills and where can I get ideas of how to demonstrate diagram reading?
Should I buy this book?

Having taught several children how to stitch over the years, I found that some children are very interested, some - not so much. You can teach them as early as 5 or so. I don't know if this book will have planning suggestions, but I think the really great part to this is the tapestry needle is not sharp. Plus, there are plastic needles that are even safer to use. You can go to the search box to the left and type in SKU# 072028 for the plastic, and SKU# 072194 or 070970 for the metal.
